GeoPost UK is preparing for its Christmas peak by launching a recruitment drive across its InterLink and DPD businesses.
The company is looking to fill 900 temporary vacancies, largely for drivers and sorters, to match the increase in parcel volumes in the run up to Christmas.
Chief executive Dwain McDonald said: “Our aim is to give our customers the same high standards of service all year round, including the Christmas peak, and this is why we have made this massive extra investment in staff.”
The vacancies will result in an additional annual wage spend of £25m for the company, who have already employed over 500 new staff this year.
In the run up to Christmas 2011, GeoPost sorted 15% more parcels than the previous year and expects another significant increase in 2012.
