Multimodal logistics firm DFDS Logistics has acquired Grimsby-based Quayside Distribution for an undisclosed sum.
The company acquired the business, assets and share capital of Quayside, which delivers fresh and frozen food for suppliers across the UK, on Tuesday 1 July.
DFDS has also acquired the operator’s two temperature-controlled warehouses in Grimsby, extending the temperature-controlled network it already operates in Scotland.
The deal has secured the jobs of its 260 staff and MD Mick Wilkinson will remain with the business.
Eddie Green, executive vice president at DFDS Logistics, said: “Quayside is a company we have known and respected for a number of years and we are delighted to welcome them into the DFDS Group.”
Quayside holds O-licences to run 87 vehicles and 87 trailers out of a number of sites across England and Scotland.
