Same day courier firm CitySprint has completed its third acquisition this year with its purchase of Enfield-based The Courier Service.
CitySprint has acquired its local and national customer base, staff and operations, including its fleet of small vans, Luton vans and transit vans.
The acquisition is its third this year, following the acquisitions of Warrington-based Sameday UK and luggage delivery firm Heathrow Baggage Services in March.
The Courier Services’ operations will increase CitySprint’s nationwide network to 37 service centres and 2,500 couriers when the operations are transferred to the firm on 12 August.
CitySprint's chief executive Patrick Gallagher said: “We plan to further our reach and develop our offering through local acquisitions and investing in new technology, such as the app, to ensure we offer our customers the best possible service.”
The Courier Service’s sales and marketing director Denise Fresco said it will be “business as usual” at the firm, with the same team and contact number.
Earlier this year, CitySprint revealed that its turnover topped £100m for the first time, since it was formed after a management buy-out in 2010.
