Wincanton has released details of its deal to manage Britvic’s new 273,000sq ft Rugby facility, which went live recently.

Wincanton is providing engineering and technical support as well as stock management and warehousing for the new 33,000 pallet facility.

At full capacity, it is anticipated that the new operation will clear 376 pallets of goods per hour and dispatch 240 loads every 24 hours.

The contract, which went live last month is in addition to Wincanton’s deal to manage the drinks company’s main DC at Lutterworth, Leicestershire.

The contract award extends the relationship to 2025.

It also comes despite the shock news last May, revealed by mototransport.co.uk, that the drinks manufacturer was switching its transport from Wincanton to previous supplier Eddie Stobart Logistics.

Ian Keilty, MD Retail & Consumer at Wincanton, said of the latest win: “We are delighted to be continuing our relationship with Britvic.

“Our experience in managing automated warehouses stood us in good stead to deal with this new facility which will be one of the largest, automated pallet high bay warehouses for soft drinks in Europe.”
