The UK arm of oil and gas specialist Lubbers Transport Group, RTH Lubbers, saw turnover rise last year as a result of an increase in sales and the rapid expansion of its interests in Italy.
The company said it saw a 28% increase in turnover in the last financial year, which ran from January to December 2012, compared to 2011’s figures.
While its 2012 results are yet to be filed at Companies House RTH-Lubbers UK (International) reported a turnover of £18.1m in the year ending 31 December 2011 and a pre-tax profit of £2.8m.
It also revealed nearly a 200% increase in sales in its Italian business since it opened a site at Ravenna, near Bologna, in 2009. The firm expects to see the same level of growth over the next 12 months.
RTH Lubbers MD Tony Tailford said: “These extremely strong results highlight not only the strength of our international offering, which continues to grow year on year and the level of service we offer in the region, but also the strength of oil and gas industry across Europe and the UK where we continue to thrive.”
The firm recently revealed plans to invest £1.2m in increasing its UK fleet to 50 trucks this year. It spent £1.6m on 12 new tractor units and 25 new trailers in 2012.
Lubbers Transport Group also plans to open a new base in Den Helder, the Netherlands, this year, expanding its network of 10 bases across Europe.
