NWF Group, which owns Nantwich-based food logistics firm Boughey Distribution, has said its performance during the current financial year will be “significantly ahead of current market expectations”.
In a statement issued on 16 May, the feed, food and fuel distribution business said trading in the winter and early spring months had been strong in the feeds division thanks to the late turn-out of dairy herds as a result of the prolonged and severe winter.
Its fuel division also benefited from the winter period with high levels of demand for heating oil, it said. However trading conditions in the food division, Boughey Distribution, “continue to be difficult”, however, added the firm.
In January, NWF revealed a 17.5% fall in Boughey Distribution’s turnover after the loss of a contract with AB World Foods caused a 16% drop in outbound volumes
NWF will announce preliminary results for the year ending 31 May on 6 August.
