The hunt for the UK’s best HGV driver has begun, with Microlise set to analyse more than 200,000 drivers’ records to identify the best of the best.
The Microlise Driver of the Year award is based on analysis of Microlise telematics data and will reveal the best short, medium and long distance drivers of 2018, before an overall winner is announced.
The awards are also open for five nomination-based categories including Young Driver, Most Improved, Lifetime Achievement, HGV Hero and Extra Mile.
Data will be anonymised and analysed, with company, contract and driver personal identification information removed.
An independent judging panel, comprising MT editor Steve Hobson and Scotland’s TC Joan Aitken among others, will produce a shortlist across all categories and it will also decide the eventual winners.
Nominations can be made at the Microlise awards mini-site before the closing date of Friday 15 February 2019. The overall winner will be named at the Microlise Transport Conference on 15 May.
