The DVSA is urging anyone who wants to comment on proposals to reduce the minimum course lengths for Driver CPC modules to respond to a consultation ending next week.

The DfT also consulting on how the DCPC qualification is maintained and accelerating the re-entry of returning drivers.

Potential measures under consideration included removing the mandatory requirements around course durations and time limits when a DCPC course is split over two days.

The DVSA said the proposed changes would help tackle the current professional driver shortage and were taken from a review of the current DCPC with vocational stakeholders.

The closing date is 11.45pm on Thursday 27 April.
