DPD's acquisition of Pie Mapping has put the technology company in a strong position to expand, said CEO Stuart Hill.
Hill, founder of wnDirect (also recently acquired by DPD), replaces Freddie Talberg, who will remain an advisor to the business.
Hill said: "I think Pie Mapping has a real opportunity to be a global player across the freight and logistics industry. But tech companies need access to finance, and this acquisition provides vital funding to enable the business to accelerate through the critical growth stages.
"In addition to the finance, DPD brings industry knowledge and expertise in building leading-edge technology fit for purpose and operated at scale."
Hill added that while Pie's focus was on existing clients and products, it plans to launch an all-in-one platform for customers in the summer.
The operation management tool business counted DPD among its customers before the delivery company bought it in November 2016.
