Palletforce is boosting its coverage of the south east of England with the addition of former Palletline member Tomsetts Distribution.

Tomsetts Distribution is the sixth firm to join Palletforce this year, following in the footsteps of DNA, NGC Logistics, Circle Express, Shakespeare Transport and QTR Transport. This latest addition boosts the Palletforce membership to 100 members.

The Newhaven-based family firm will cover the Newhaven and Eastbourne area for Palletforce, which encompasses the BN and RH postcodes.

Palletforce said both areas had been covered by other Palletforce members before Tomsett Distribution joined the network.

Tomsetts Distribution MD Steve Tucknott, said: “After many years with Palletline we were looking to make a change to our network and were really impressed with the ethos and attitude of Palletforce.

“They are a comparatively young company, but in the 16 years they have been operating they have shown tremendous growth, backed by substantial investment.

“It’s clear that they have a strong long-term strategy, we believe they will be a perfect fit for Tomsetts.”

Palletforce chief executive Michael Conroy said the network’s investment programme, including the recent opening of its £50m Superhub in Burton-on-Trent, was attracting new members.

He said: “We are continually investing in our network to enable growth across our membership and that investment is helping us to stand out from the crowd and attract the best companies in key areas.

“Tomsetts are a proven operator with a reputation for first class customer service so they’re right at home with Palletforce and will help to strengthen our network even further. We welcome them to the Palletforce network and look forward to building the future together.”

Palletline has replaced Tomsetts with two new members. Bognor Regis-based F and G Transport will cover the BN postcodes, whilst Lynfield, Surrey-based HE Baldry Haulage will be covering the RH postcodes.
