Operators affected by the Birmingham Clean Air Zone (CAZ) are invited to attend a free half-day event, hosted by Motor Transport in partnership with the city council, to learn about the scheme's progress and gain invaluable advice for keeping your fleet compliant.

Taking place on 10 October at Villa Park Stadium, the roadshow will hear from Sylvia Broadley, air quality manager for Birmingham City Council, who will share the city’s CAZ launch plans, while a council-led workshop to help delegates understand the funding options available for commercial vehicle operators will form a key part of the day.

If you are running an older fleet and are concerned about how you will be able to meet the deadline to comply, this workshop will help you to explore the options available for applying for grants, whether exemptions apply to your fleet, and what other funding is available.

David Horsfall, director at Tyseley Energy Park, will be giving an update on the UK’s first low- and zero-carbon refuelling station at Tyseley Energy Park, which will include hydrogen, compressed natural gas, biodiesel and electrical charging options. Delegates are also invited to take a tour of the new refuelling hub after the morning’s conference session concludes.

Other speakers confirmed for the day include:

  • Claire Thompson-Sage, sustainable development co-ordinator at UPS, sharing the delivery giant’s first-hand experience of running electric vans across its courier operations;
  • Celine Cluzel, director at Element Energy explaining the Business Breathes campaign and the wider support available for businesses to help them prepare for the CAZ;
  • Mark Cooper, MD at HJS Emission Technology UK, talking about the retrofit options for lighter goods vehicles.

With an outside clean vehicle exhibition included as well, book your place now to join us for an informative day to help you prepare for the CAZ and future-proof your fleet. It is completely free to attend, but places do fill up fast, so make sure to register quickly.
