Miniclipper Logistics is leaving Pall-Ex after more than 15 years with the network to join rival Palletline.

The Leighton Buzzard-based firm was one of the founding members of Pall-Ex went it launched in 1996. Jayne Masters, sales director at Miniclipper, tells MT.co.uk that it wasn’t an easy decision to make.

“Periodically, every two years we would review our position and look at other networks, but last summer there were one or two service issues and we also wanted to be able to offer our pallet customers real-time POD,” says Masters.

Miniclipper has been using software from Stirling Solutions for its own customers for some time and says Stirling also created Contrado, Palletline’s system for POD exchange.

“Unfortunately Pall-Ex wasn’t going to be implementing real-time POD as quickly as we needed so it seemed like the right time to switch to Palletline and benefit from that alignment of technology.

“Pall-Ex has helped us build our business over the years and there are no hard feelings, this was purely a business decision,” adds Masters.

Miniclipper commences operations with Palletline on 16 April.
