DSV’s Road division has appointed Jesper Hansen as UK managing director, following former MD René Falch Olesen’s decision to concentrate on his role as group chief commercial officer.

Hansen joined DSV as traffic manager for the Benelux/France region in 1997 and worked his way up to his former role of division director domestic for Sweden in 2011. His previous role saw him manage a workforce of 330 staff across 20 sites, with an annual turnover of £200m.

Hansen said: “I am delighted to be leading such a great team as DSV Road in the UK. This is a very strong part of our group which delivers excellent results through on-going hard work and dedication. I am looking forward to continuing on the great work.”

Olesen stepped down from his role as MD to focus on his responsibilities as chief operating officer for DSV Group, which he took up two years ago.

Olesen said: “The focus of the global commercial organisation is to lead initiatives aimed at the organic growth of DSV as a whole– a role I look very much forward to giving my full attention and energy.”

DSV Road recently launched its daily pallet service across Europe, offering delivery to 32 countries.
