Fleet management firm Zenith has acquired 100 new Schmitz Cargobull S.KO Pace Smart semi-trailers to support its parcel customers in the UK.

It cited their durability and shorter lead times after production was ramped up in Manchester as major factors in the trailer rental firm’s choice.

Zenith Trailer Rentals MD Phil Rodman said: “We have more than 7,000 trailers on our fleet, but this is the first time that we have worked with Schmitz Cargobull.

“Of course, we’ve always been aware of Schmitz Cargobull products and a combination of their strong reputation for building quality assets and a proposal that exactly matched our requirements in terms of availability and specification meant they were a natural partner for us when it came to expanding our fleet.”

The company added that its confidence in the manufacturer was so high it put in the order without trialing a demonstrator.

The assets will be in operation seven days each week, primarily with parcel companies.

Rodman added: “Ordering a trailer that’s built in the UK certainly has its advantages, particularly at a time when parts are hard to come by.”
