Cooker manufacturer AGA Rangemaster has handed its UK distribution to Yusen Logistics, in order to focus on manufacturing and selling.
Rangemaster holds a standard international licence authorising 57 HGVs and 29 trailers out of three depots, plus a restricted licence for 12 HGVs out of a Nottingham base, but it decided to outsource its UK work after Yusen Logistics designed a bespoke solution for its customers.
Yusen said that collections from Rangemaster’s site at Royal Leamington Spa are now cross-docked at its white goods facility, creating consolidation opportunities with other customers.

A Rangemaster spokeswoman said the move would make the cooker maker more efficient and gave its customers more delivery options.
However, she added that Rangemaster would continue doing its own deliveries as well, although no further detail as to whether this was regional or customer deliveries was made available.
