Parcel carrier Yodel has opened its largest depot ever at a site in Longford, Coventry.
The 135,000sq ft facility sits on over 6.5 acres of land and has the capacity to process and deliver up to 50,000 parcels per day at peak, a 28% increase in output on its Leamington Spa depot, making the Coventry facility the largest within the Yodel property estate.
The company has signed a seven-year lease from this year, with operations beginning at the end of February.

The new unit includes a 99,000sq ft warehouse and 6,000sq ft of operational office space across two floors. It has been designed to cater for up to 175 vans and 275 courier sorts, plus capacity for 35 trailers and units.
Yodel said the new depot removes the need for a local, temporary peak satellite site in future years.
Mike Hancox, Yodel chief executive, said: “We are delighted to have the full support of all the stakeholders to open and refurbish Yodel’s new Coventry depot, which will improve best in class facilities for our colleagues, and ensure that we can be more dynamic and fit for purpose.
“It is an exciting time to be moving to a new location and an important step in expanding the business in the Midlands area.”
