XPO Logistics has won a new contract with air conditioning business Fujitsu General Air Conditioning (UK).
Transporting around 11,000 pallets of air conditioning units a year, XPO one- and two-man crews will deliver the products to offices and industrial buildings across the UK.
Additionally, the operator will store 4,000 pallets of goods at a time for Fujitsu at its site in Aylesford, Kent.
XPO will also be responsible for monitoring the progress of stock inbound from overseas through bespoke tracking technology.
The manufacturer's sales director Ian Carroll said working with XPO had allowed Fujitsu to offer its customers a stronger technological operation.
He said: “XPO Logistics have enabled us to go above and beyond what we’ve previously been able to do.
“By offering online tracking of shipments, a mobile app for our customers and considerable transport capability we are able to fulfil client orders more efficiently and accurately," he said.
