XPO Logistics has won a contract with Pearson Education to distribute courseware and assessment materials in the UK.

Pearson, which provides educational materials, e-learning programs, and assessment services for schools, corporations, students, and clinicians in 70 countries, has relocated distribution from Belgium to the UK under the deal.

The relocation allows the company to shorten lead times for deliveries to its customers while gaining greater visibility and seasonal flexibility.

The contract will also see XPO use its technology to manage all materials for a course of study as a single SKU, accommodate peaks in demand, and customize clinical testing kits.

XPO’s hub in Merlin Park, Birmingham, will distribute materials for Pearson’s retail and educational channels and fulfil both direct-to-consumer orders and orders placed by major e-commerce companies and wholesalers.
