Wilson James has been award gold in TfL's Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (Fors) for its London Construction Consolidation Centre in Silvertown.
Bob Dempsey operations manager for Wilson James said: "We are delighted to have been awarded Fors gold standard and to be one of few construction related companies to have done so.
A number of major construction projects have realised the benefits of consolidation given the severe delivery constraints that their central London sites have."
The consolidation centre was used by Skanska in the redevelopment of the capital's Bart's hospital, and Wilson James said it had taken on 12 new contracts this year as well as doubling its onsite warehousing space to meet demand.
Fors is a free, benchmarking scheme that promotes operational excellence and elements such as cyclist safety.
- Wilson James has recently appointed Peter Jacobs as its new board director. Jacobs joins the company after 24 years with Bovis Lend Lease, where he headed up the team behind the London 2012 Olympic Village.
