Free webinars to help operators chart a course through the choppy waters caused by the Middle East conflict have been organised by Logistics UK.
It said attendees will have the opportunity to share how the situation is affecting their businesses, with insight and practical guidance to help firms understand and manage rising fuel costs.
There will also be practical tools to help operators control these costs and risk and guidance on purchasing, data and contracting approaches.
“Logistics businesses traditionally work to incredibly narrow margins,” said Ben Fletcher, Logistics UK’s chief executive.
“Often in low single digits, meaning that the industry cannot absorb significant price rises and must pass on the increased charges to their customers, and ultimately, consumers.
“This is not a route that our industry takes lightly but is a necessary consequence of the rapidly escalating costs that our members are facing.”
The first webinar for its members will be held on 22 April between 1pm and 2pm. A second webinar takes place on 28 April between 11am and 12pm.
“As the leading business group in the sector, Logistics UK is maintaining close contact with government throughout the conflict,” added Fletcher, “and continues to press the Treasury to suspend the planned reversal of the fuel duty cut announced in the Budget.”
Members can register here for the 22 April event and here for the 28 April webinar.
