Birmingham-based Ware Transport has been snapped up by Trilogy Freight after entering administration.
DVSA records show air freight specialist Ware Transport (Birmingham) was authorised to run more than 20 vehicles at its base near Birmingham airport and also a Manchester site.
A sub-contractor for the business, which lists its directors as Sarah Parsons and Brian Davis, said that Sarah’s father Alan Parsons the former owner had died earlier this year.
The haulier had been trading under a Company Voluntary Arrangement since April 2014 administered by insolvency practitioners FA Simms & Partners.
As of April 2017 £486,000 has been paid back with HMRC listed as the major creditor.
Official records show that Martin Richard Buttriss and Richard Frank Simms of FA Simms Partners were appointed as administrators of the business on 12 October.
A staff member at Ware Transport confirmed to MT the business had been sold and the former directors had left.
Lee Davis, director at Trilogy Freight, which is based at Southmoor Business Park, Manchester, confirmed to MT that some of the assets of Ware Transport had been purchased after it went into administration.
Trilogy Freight was formed from the combination of CM Express, S3 and Robins Transport and has O-licence authorisation for up to 47 vehicles, according to DVSA.
