UK Pallets has added two new partners - Neill & Brown Global Logistics and Hellmann Worldwide Logistics – as part of the “continued development” of the network.
Neill & Brown will handle the HU postcode for the network, effectively replacing D&P Haulage, which, at the end of 2011, switched networks to UPN as a result of then UPN member Eurovision Logistics moving to Fortec. Since early 2012 D&P has been operating as a delivery only member for UK Pallets covering the HU & YO postcodes.
Graeme Wilson, MD of UK Pallets, told Motortransport.co.uk: “As part of our continued development UK Pallets has been seeking alternate suitable and full members for those postcodes.
“The delivery service we receive from D&P has always been of the highest standards but obviously as we seek to grow and develop, pallet ‘input’ is just as important as local delivery services. With that in mind, Neill & Brown have now joined the UK Pallets member network and will be servicing the HU postcodes on behalf of ourselves moving forward,” he added.
Colin Moody, MD at Neill & Brown, said that the deal would result in a significant increase in business: “Our exclusive agreement with UK Pallets will result in us gaining a much greater share of pallet movements from this area, with a large proportion of the goods being from Hull-based manufacturing companies and from distributors who have imported products into the Humber.
Wilson said that the appointment of Neill & Brown was part of its “continued development” and “they bring a wealth of experience and an existing customer base with them”.
Meanwhile Hellmann takes over European pallet membership at the division of UK Mail Group from September, as well as handling the KT, GU and TW postcodes.
Matthew Marriott, commercial director at Hellmann Worldwide Logistics UK, said: “With our Colnbrook depot opening earlier in the year we’ve already seen double-digit growth in 2013, and we’re confident that this new agreement will help us to continue that development.”
Wilson added that: “UK Pallets has had a tremendous working relationship with Hellmann for many years, so by joining the UK Pallets network as a full member from the Colnbrook depot and being our new European delivery member, we are delighted to strengthen that relationship.”
Hellmann replaces Dachser as the European partner at UK Pallets. Dachser was unavailable for comment.
