UK Mail has won a distribution contract with Shropshire-based bird food provider CJ WildBird Foods.
The contract, which was effective from July, will see the parcel carrier collect from the wildlife feed retailer every day and deliver its products throughout the UK and Ireland.
The retailer switched its distribution contract after reviewing the service it received from its previous carrier. Group commercial manager Linda Hanks said it chose UK Mail due to its quote on price and service and said it was “probably the easiest switch of carriers [it] had ever had”.
Guy Buswell, chief executive at UK Mail said: “This is a significant contract win for us. We hope to continue developing a strong relationship with CJ WildBird Foods as well as improving the service to develop substantial growth for both companies.”
Based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, CJ WildBird Foods sells its products via its website, mail order catalogue and in retail stores throughout the UK.
Earlier this month, UK Mail Group reported an expected 13% increase in turnover for the first half of this year, with a number of recent contract wins providing an increase in parcel volumes.
