DHL Deutsche Post’s European parcels business saw turnover increase 70.3% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2017, driven primarily by its acquisition of UK Mail.
Its European network saw turnover rise to €458m (£386.3) up from €269m (£226.8m), with UK Mail adding €139m (£117.2m) of turnover to DHL Deutsche Post Parcels Europe in the reporting period.
Deutsche Post DHL made an offer of £242.7m for UK Mail in September 2016, with the deal closing in December. The acquisition is part of the company's strategy to strengthen its pan-European e-commerce logistics capabilities.
