Twinwheel Logistics in Grays has created 21 new jobs after spending £1.2m expanding its premises and boosting its fleet.

The family-run company added three acres to its site, including a 50,000 sq ft warehouse in Purfleet-on-Thames, as well as an additional one-acre site with 30,000 sq ft warehouse next to its existing premises.

The West Thurrock, Pallet-Track haulier said that in total it now controlled 5.4 acres and 110,000 sq ft of warehousing across its sites and new jobs had been created in operations and for HGV drivers.

It added that growth had been driven by demand for international services, including worldwide shipping, shipping container handling, imports and exports.

Twinwheel Logistics recently accepted the ‘Outstanding Growth’ award at Pallet-Track’s annual black-tie gala, held at Celtic Manor Resort in Newport.

Courtney Howard, MD at Twinwheel Logistics, said: “We’ve experienced an incredible year and have invested heavily to expand and diversify both our services and the markets we operate in.

“This success is built on data, with every decision driven by statistics; it has enabled us to set clear goals and have an achievable vision for the future of the business.

“We’re now into our fourth year with Pallet-Track and have worked hard to grow our pallet distribution service, from one trailer per night to five.

“To be recognised for our growth in this way is fantastic for our business. This award is a great achievement for the whole team and testament to the hard work everyone has put in over the last 12 months.”
