Leicestershire’s Trucklink EU has taken on another four Renault T-Range Turbo Compound tractor units, as it moves towards running only the French manufacturer’s vehicles.

The palletised freight distribution firm said it was already seeing significant fuel savings in the new trucks: “We are really pleased with the new trucks and we’re already seeing a 10-15% improvement in our fuel economy,” said MD Nigel Todd.

“I went to the Renault factory in Lyon and was so impressed with the development and research they are putting into meeting the 2030 clean air regulations.

“We could see they wanted to work with us to get us where we need to be when these changes come in and eventually we want to be a complete Renault fleet – from 3.5-tonne to 44-tonne.”

Supplied by Hexagon Leasing, the trucks are DVS compliant and equipped with features such as satellite navigation, comfort seats, and Renault’s Optifleet system.

Steve Johnson, national accounts manager at Hexagon, added: “Our long-standing partnership with Trucklink EU is built on understanding their operational and business needs.

“We will be supplying the vehicles on a five-year R&M package with full fleet management support.”
