Pall-Ex member Harbour International Freight has earned a prestigious ‘AA’ accreditation for ambient storage, distribution and cross-docking following an auditing process conducted by BRGCS.

Founded in Ireland more than 50 years ago, Harbour International has expanded its presence in the UK in recent years, with a move to a new national HQ in Trafford Park in 2022 at the same time as new group offices opened in Dublin.

To achieve the ‘AA’ rating, the global supply chain standards arbiter conducted a 10-hour inspection of the site in August, with grading confirmation announced the following month. The certification will be re-assessed annually.

Steve Swinburn, Harbour MD, said: “We are incredibly proud to have secured the highest possible grade from the BRGCS.

“The accreditation is a true reflection of the incredible pride the whole team feel in our business and the efforts they go to ensure we’re able to offer a best-in-class service.

“The rating will help us forge new relationships with key FMCG and food manufacturing businesses and enable us to work with larger, blue-chip multinationals which require their carriers to have such certification.”

Rebecca Wayte, a network director at Pall-Ex, congratulated the haulier: “They have been a valued member of our network for nearly a decade and securing such a top-standard rating is no mean feat,” she said.

“The BRGCS serves as a real mark of quality and can act as a point of differentiation for potential customers – particularly those operating in spaces where such certification is a legal necessity.”
