TNT Express’s Caroline Rose was named Woman of the Year at the 2016 FTA Everywoman in Transport and Logistics Awards.
Rose, who is head of regional operations at TNT Express, won the award over the 21 other finalists for her “transformational work” managing 11 TNT depots across London and the South East.
Speaking at the awards ceremony in London’s Park Lane Hilton, Rose said: “I have always found the story of every single woman shortlisted for an award at Everywoman to be hugely inspirational, so it is truly humbling to have won this award.”
TNT UK MD Marianne Culver said she was “thrilled” that Rose’s leadership and achievements had been recognised.
She added: “We have a hugely strong commitment to all forms of diversity in TNT, and I must admit that this particular female managing director is feeling very happy indeed today that our female bench strength is so impressive and has been so warmly acknowledged."
Other industry winners included Driver of the Year Kirsty Sando, driver manager at Heathrow Express, and the Leader of the Year Kathryn Lewis, operations director at Advanced Supply Chain.
FTA chief executive David Wells said he thought the winners “represented the diversity of roles within our industry”.
He said: “There is all too often a public misconception about what transport and logistics actually delivers, and recruiting women into our industry suffers as a result.”
