The Traffic Commissioner has refused a new licence application by a former director of K West Transport who wanted to operate HGVs from the same premises after the haulage firm collapsed into administration.

The Office of the TC (OTC) had not responded as we went to press, but records showed that the application by Martin Haralambov to commence operating lorries under the similar name K Transport Logistics was rejected at a public inquiry on 1 October.

K West Logistics’ application listed as its operating centre the same Sandywood industrial estate address in Manchester as K West Transport.

Bulgarian Haralambov was MD of K West Transport until his resignation in January this year. In September, K West Transport entered administration after a winding-up petition was presented by Salford City Council.

The insolvency procedure occurred just two days before K West Transport and its director Isporski Krum were also due in Warrington to face the TC at a PI to discuss disciplinary action; a written decision about this case is expected to be issued shortly.

New company K West Logistics was incorporated in January with eCapital Commercial Finance holding a fixed and floating charge over the business.

A spokesman for RCM Advisory told Motor Transport that a report explaining the reasons behind K West Transport’s administration would be issued within eight weeks.
