The traffic commissioner for Wales, Victoria Davies, has announced her resignation from the post after six years with effect from 1 March.
Senior TC Kevin Rooney said: “I would like to offer my thanks to Victoria for her contribution to road safety in Wales.
“I wish her every success in her new position. Her work has strengthened the traffic commissioner tribunal.
“In addition to the hours spent on cases, education, and encouraging road transport businesses, she has enhanced cooperation between the traffic commissioners and the Welsh government.”
Over the course of her tenure, Davies has raised the issue of no bilingual staff supporting her work in Wales and the importance of recruiting locally-based employees fluent in both English and Welsh.
Her resignation follows an announcement last month that a TC for Scotland had finally been appointed and Sharon Clelland would take up the position in April.
She replaces Claire Gilmore who resigned from the post in 2024.

The Welsh government cabinet secretary for transport and North Wales, Ken Skates, said:
“I would like to thank Victoria Davies for her dedicated service as the traffic commissioner for Wales over the past six years.
“I look forward to supporting the recruitment process that will now begin to appoint her successor and ensure the continued promotion and effective regulation of safe and reliable road passenger and goods transport in Wales.”
