Vehicle salvage and recycling firm SYNETIQ has taken delivery of nine DAF LF 12-tonne double deck recovery trucks to improve its efficiency and carbon footprint.
Equipped with tilt and slide bodies and spec lifts, the vehicles are designed to transport three cars and are being used to collect salvage vehicles for the insurance industry that are held at garages or policyholders' addresses.
The new trucks will be based at SYNETIQ’s depots in Winsford, St. Albans, Gloucester and east London.
Mike Griffiths, SYNETIQ head of transport, said: “We needed to expand our fleet as part of the company’s growth strategy and these DAF trucks from MV Commercial are a great addition.
“They enable us to access areas of the UK that our 26-tonne vehicles can’t, such as parts of Wales and other remote locations that are difficult to reach.
“The new 12-tonne recovery trucks are really improving the effectiveness of our operations and driving our sustainability ambitions forward.”
