Geopost grew revenues by 1.3% during the first half of the year, despite a “challenging” period peppered with macroeconomic tensions, according to the parcel firm.

Parcel volumes increased by 2.6% with more than a billion parcels delivered worldwide.

The DPD parent company said the key drivers fuelling its growth were out-of-home deliveries, international deliveries and food deliveries, where volumes increased by 25%, 10% and 7% respectively.

Yves Delmas, Geopost chief executive, said: “In the face of a challenging and unpredictable environment, we are encouraged by our first-half results, which demonstrate Geopost’s resilience and drive to deliver quality services to consumers and businesses in all markets.

“Food, international and out-of-home deliveries, three high growth areas that are pivotal in our ‘Together & Beyond’ strategy, have delivered strong results.”

The company added that it was still operating within an uncertain environment, with the delayed impacts of inflation on cost of workforce and political instability across Europe and the rest of the world.

Despite this, operating profit was €331m (£281.3m), which was an increase of €256m (£217.6m) compared to the first half of 2023.

Delmas added: “In parallel, we continue to actively implement our sustainability strategy, as evidenced by the 7.8% reduction in our GHG emissions by the end of March 2024.”
