Stalkers Transport Services has put a new Daf CF85 on the road to honour the memory of MD Hughie Stalker, who passed away on 10 February after a five- year battle with lung cancer.
The truck, supplied by Solway Daf in Carlisle and based at the firm’s headquarters in Brampton, Cumbria, features Hughie’s name above the windscreen and sports a number plate with a simple message: MI55 HUW.
Over 450 mourners attended Hughie’s funeral service, held on 15 February at St Martin’s Church in Brampton, where £2,730 was raised for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation at The Northern Centre for Cancer Care at Newcastle’s Freemans Hospital.
Stalkers is also to host a charity golf day on 31 May at Brampton Golf Club to celebrate Hughie’s favourite pastime and raise further funds for the cause.
Stalkers Transport Services was established by Hughie's father Edward Stalker in 1968. Hughie's daughter, Karen, and son, David, continue to act as directors.
