Tool and equipment hire provider Speedy has become the first company to be awarded an HS2 Earned Recognition (ER) accreditation standard, enabling it to bid for contracts related to the high-speed rail link.
Developed by the DVSA, with support from Logistics UK and the RHA and approved by HS2, the module is open to all ER operators and proves their high standards of compliance.
Gareth Jones, Speedy transport compliance manager, said the accreditation was “a significant milestone” for the business: “We operate with safety, sustainability at the heart of everything we do, and deliver innovation whilst supporting the logistics for our HS2 contracts,” he said.
“Being the first business to be awarded the Earned Recognition HS2 module standard is something the Speedy Transport team are very proud to have achieved.”
Marian Kitson, DVSA director of enforcement, said: “Being able to bid for contracts such as HS2 will not only benefit the operator and contractor, but also help boost road safety by ensuring safe vehicles and drivers involved are of the highest standard.”
