Palletways member Speed Welshpool has hired a new sales manager to fuel growth.
Cheryl Charles joins the business from a social care charity, but has 10 years of experience in sales at freight forwarding and logistics companies.
Speed Welshpool MD George Edwards said he had already had strong feedback from existing customers working with Charles.
He said: "We were thrilled to welcome Cheryl to the team in this new role at Speed Welshpool and I’m delighted at the feedback we’re receiving from the customers that Cheryl is involved with.
“It’s clear local businesses embrace working with a family-owned carrier who value customer service, and who don’t just go the extra mile but to the ‘ends of the earth’ for their customers.
“Now that the team is structured to offer a leading service, the foundations are in place for us to develop as a business. I’m very excited to see what the next 12 months bring in terms of growth as we look to communicate our strengths to the local area and work with new businesses.”
Charles said that her family relocated to central Wales in 2015 and that she had struggled to find the right employment opportunity, but that she "jumped at the chance" to work with the Palletways member.
She added: “As I’d already worked in the logistics industry and enjoyed it thoroughly, I saw this role as a great opportunity to help a successful local business secure its future and develop further. I love my role at Speed Welshpool as it’s a great company to work for – no two days are the same!
“I’ve learnt a lot about our customers businesses and how we can be an extension of their offering to their customers. It’s our goal to give the customers the very best service in the industry and I’m excited to try and make that a reality.”
