The shortlist for the FTA everywoman in Transport and Logistics awards has been announced ahead of next month’s ceremony.
Now in its ninth year (last year's winners are pictured above), the event celebrates the achievements of women from across the transport industry.
The shortlist of 22 finalists includes representatives from leading haulage companies such as Wincanton, XPO Logistics and TNT UK.
David Wells, chief executive of the event’s title partner FTA, said: “Women are essential in every aspect of the UK logistics and supply chains – from drivers and warehouse staff, to transport managers and managing directors.
“It is essential that the logistics industry is able to access a wide talent pool, to meet its need for good quality staff at every level.
Everywoman co-founder Maxine Benson added: “Today’s announcement comes as the transport industry seeks to enhance its image as one that offers exciting opportunities to all women, from young women entering the workforce to those returning after a career break.
“This year’s finalists are the role models who demonstrate the industry is open to all backgrounds and skill-sets and that it welcomes talented and ambitious women. We know these finalists will inspire others to follow in their footsteps.”
The awards will be announced at a lunch event at the Park Lane Hilton on 26 May.
