Scania UK has appointed former Jaguar and Land Rover global sales director Chris Newitt as its UK MD.
Newitt, who joined the firm on 20 September, will be responsible for guiding Scania UK through what the OEM describes as “the biggest transition the heavy transport industry has ever seen” to more sustainable modes of transport.
James Armstrong, executive regional director for Scania Europe North, said: “I am delighted to welcome Chris to Scania UK. He has a proven track record and will bring a wealth of experience to one of the most revered positions in the industry.”
Newitt joins from Jaguar Land Rover which he joined as sales director in 2010, rising to the position of global performance director.

Newitt succeeds and will report to James Armstrong, who will take up his new role as executive regional director for Scania Europe North Region, where he will manage six European markets – UK, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and the Baltics.
