Wiltshire haulage firm S. L. Transport (UK) has called in the administrators after more than 30 years of trading.
The company’s phone number was not working when Motor Transport attempted to contact its directors, but records showed insolvency practitioners at KBL Recovery were appointed on 30 August.
The haulier has four operating centres in the West of England, including in Swindon and Wootton Bassett, and holds an international licence authorising a total of 19 HGVs and eight trailers.
S. L. Transport’s website said it was a specialist in pallet network and general haulage operations and ran a fleet of vehicles from 3.5-tonnes up to artics.
The company was known to have been a Palletways member, but the network told Motor Transport it left six months ago.
“As well as a pallet network we also are able to accommodate other general haulage requirements such as curtainsider loads, box trailer or smaller and partial loads,” the haulier’s website added.
The last set of accounts showed that the company, which was incorporated in 1991, had a turnover of £1.9m in the year ending 31 December 2022, but it made a pre-tax loss of £76,000. This compared to a £1.8m turnover in 2021 and a £76,000 pre-tax profit.
During the period it employed 22 staff.
KBL did not respond.
