Rental and leasing company Ryder has named Simon Ranner as UK operations director.
The newly created position sees Ranner taking responsibility for Ryder’s UK network of 29 depots and the company’s engineering and Fleetcare operations. He will report directly to Ryder Europe MD David Hunt.
Ranner (right) brings over 30 years of experience in commercial transport and logistics to the role. He has held senior roles in commercial transport and 3PL distribution for organisations including Theo Paphitis Retail Group, Unipart Logistics, Tesco, Punch Taverns and Scottish & Newcastle.
Ranner said: “In my new role, my focus will be on further leveraging the strengths of the Ryder organisation, and bringing forward best practice from across transport, logistics and other leading industries. This will ensure we continue to support the transportation priorities of all of our customers with consistently great service and value aligned to their business needs.”
