Royal Mail is to open 10 temporary parcel sorting sites between now and Christmas to sort a significant amount of its peak volumes.
The sites will be opened on a phased basis from today (3 November) and will be located in: West Lothian, Leeds, Middleton in Greater Manchester, Wolverhampton, Llantrisant in South Wales, Swindon, Greenford in west London, Peterborough and Milton Keynes.
Around 4,000 of the 19,000 seasonal workers it is currently recruiting will be based at the sites.
It is the fourth consecutive year that the operator has set up a network of parcel sort centres just for the Christmas peak.
