Royal Mail scooped the Company of the Year accolade at the Women in Logistics (WIL) UK awards last Friday (20 September) in Solihull.
Selected by public vote, the post and parcels giant received 85% of the vote, fighting off finalists Premier Farnell and Unipart Logistics.
SME of the Year Award went to supply chain and logistics recruitment firm BiS Henderson.
"The winning companies showed real thought leadership on gender equality, and had a clear vision for the future,” said WIL founder Ruth Waring.
The Woman of the Year trophy was awarded to Danielle Kozlowska [pictured], project manager - supporting future growth at Tesco, while Rebecca Smith, graduate trainee at Norbert Dentressangle, won the Young Woman of the Year award.
“I feel humbled and extremely honoured to have won Woman of the Year,” said Kozlowska. “I’ve been working in a male dominated industry for over 10 years and these awards prove that I am one of an increasing number of women in the logistics industry, challenging the status quo and making a real mark in the transport and logistics sector.”
"These are ambitious and high performing women who have made remarkable contributions to our industry, and it's wonderful to be able to publicly acknowledge their talents," added Waring.
