Romac Logistics said it was creating capacity and strengthening its network after acquiring a 251,000sq ft facility in Chesterfield.

The Romac East Midlands warehouse near junction 29A of the M1 features a 15-metre eaves height suitable for high-bay storage, 23 dock-level loading doors and chilled storage capability.

The company said the spec enabled increased throughput, improved efficiency and scalable operations, while remaining aligned to the needs of its current customer base.

Company owner Rob McAdoo said: “This was a deliberate, owner-led decision focused on strengthening our network for the customers we already serve. Romac East Midlands gives us the right operational balance – improving resilience and service today, while providing capacity for targeted growth in the future.”

Romac added that the facility would also provide employment opportunities across warehouse operations, transport and logistics management roles in the East Midlands.

Romac said the facility had achieved a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating and an EPC ‘A’ grade.
