Roadways-Container-Logistic

Roadways Container Logistics has revealed the details of its new contract with Bosch and Siemens Home Appliance Group (BSH), which commenced at the beginning of the year.

The contract is being managed from the operator’s Felixstowe site and involves delivering brands such as Bosch, Neff, Siemens and Gaggenau to BSH’s  customers, including John Lewis and Currys.

The operator will also pick up goods from ports across the UK for delivery to BSH’s DC in Kettering, using a ‘drop and swap’ concept at the port to maximise vehicle utilisation.

The contract was awarded to Roadways following a competitive tender.

Roadways Container Logistics general manager Marc Wynne said: “Currently we’re managing an average of 75 containers a week for BSH Home Appliances, with the ‘drop and swap’ element enabling us to maximise use of our resources at times when they are not fully deployed.”

BSH logistics operations manager, Paul Shanks, said: “We are delighted to be working with Roadways and the contract has got off to a great start in terms of meeting our agreed delivery targets, as well as from a customer service standpoint.”
