A West Yorkshire haulier has reported an increase in revenues of nearly £60m and profits rising by a quarter.

Cullingworth Commercials and Freight Services, which operates 40 HGVs out of a Halifax base, saw turnover rise by almost 18% to £59.3m.

Pre-tax profit increased by 24% to £6.7m from £5.4m in 2024 and operating profit jumped by 17.6% to £5.9m.

Its haulage and freight transport work accounted for £9.2m of the turnover in the year ending 28 February 2025, with poultry sales at £49.2m.

The company, which undertakes contracting work as well as poultry sales and commercial vehicle repairs, said its trading performance had been in line with management expectations.

“The director is satisfied that there are no significant material risks to the business outside those normally associated with the nature of the haulage industry,” it said in a business review.

Cullingworth Commercials also has an operating centre in Preston which is authorised to run 10 lorries.
