Scania (Great Britain) has appointed Paul Smith as marketing director with a brief to bring on board “fresh thinking and ideas” in the face of “rapid and radical change” in the automotive industry.
In his new role, Smith will be responsible for the centralised marketing of Scania's products and services and will provide marketing support to the company's national dealer network.
Smith joins Scania (Great Britain) from creative advertising agency RLA, where he was commercial director.

The agency has worked with Scania for the past nine years, during which time Smith worked on Scania contracts in the UK, South Africa and China.
Former roles also include after sales marketing manager at Volkswagen Group and regional manager for London at Vauxhall Motors.
Smith said: "The sustainability challenges faced by our industry today are redefining the ways in which manufacturers operate and present themselves to market, and I am looking forward to help further develop and promote the Scania brand at such an exciting time."
