Owens Group delivers PPE to frontline NHS staff

Owens Group trucks met flights on the tarmac at Cardiff airport to ensure PPE reached frontline NHS staff in “one of the most important challenges” in the firm’s history.

The Palletforce member has been involved in efforts to distribute the equipment, including hospital beds, across Wales and the UK.

Freight was unloaded from specially-chartered flights from Asia to Cardiff with Owens staff working alongside NHS Wales, Cardiff Wales Airport, South Wales Police, Swissport handling and Military Aid.

Huw Owen, Owens Group MD said: “This has been one of the most important challenges in the history of our company and we are all honoured to be playing such an important role in supporting NHS Wales and other NHS departments across the UK.

“It was a project where our robust family values and focus on service delivery meant everyone rose to the challenge.”
