Northumberland’s R.L Proudlock & Sons has taken on an adaptable Volvo FH 540 Globetrotter 6x2 plated for 65-tonne GCW operation, capable of tackling the firm’s entire range of activities.
Replacing a 15 plate Volvo FH, its D13K Euro 6 Step E engine enables it to easily undertake plant distribution, as well as livestock, bulk and general haulage work.
“Volvo has been ever present with us practically since the company was founded, meaning that it is our natural first port of call whenever we are ready to bring on a new truck,” said director Daniel Proudlock.
“This time around, it was no different, and while we were very fond of the ’15 plate Volvo FH this new model is replacing, it is always exciting when a new truck arrives.”
Founded in 1975, R.L Proudlock & Sons is a family-run business based in Kirkheaton, from which the company operates across the UK.
The new FH is expected to clock up to 120,000km annually and remain in its fleet for at least three years.
