Northumberland-based Templeman Retail & Vending has added 21 MAN TGE vans to its fleet as it continues to expand its nationwide logistics operation.
The family-run business, based in Cramlington, has taken delivery of 21 long-wheelbase MAN TGE 3.140 Lion XS panel vans, all finished in gloss black with branded liveries featuring products supplied by the company.
The new vans join a fleet of 73 vehicles, including 29 MAN trucks.
Templeman Retail & Vending supplies soft drinks, crisps, snacks, confectionery and other food products to wholesalers, vending operators, foodservice businesses and retail groups. The company also provides bespoke vending solutions and has more than 30 years’ experience in the sector.
The business recently consolidated its three Gateshead facilities into a single site at Cramlington.
The vans are powered by MAN’s 2.0-litre Euro-6 four-cylinder diesel engine, producing 140PS (103kW), coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox. All 21 vehicles are front-wheel drive.
Specification includes a digital instrument cluster, rear-view camera, climate-controlled air conditioning, heated and electrically adjustable folding mirrors, MAN Media Van with a 10.4in touchscreen, multifunction steering wheel and electronic parking brake with Auto-Hold.
Safety and driver-assistance equipment includes fatigue detection, traffic-sign recognition, intelligent speed assistance, cruise control, emergency brake assist, active lane guard, tyre-pressure monitoring and parking assist.
The vans have also been fitted with interior racking, tracking devices and Category 5 immobilisers.
All UK-purchased MAN TGE vans come with a three-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer’s warranty and are supported by MAN Truck & Bus UK’s nationwide commercial vehicle dealer network.
The TGE range is also covered by MAN’s Mobile24 roadside assistance service, which operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year across Europe.
Karl Templeman, Templeman Retail & Vending service director, said the company had developed a strong relationship with MAN Truck & Bus and its Gateshead dealer.
“Nothing is too much trouble, and the team there looks after our vehicles as if they were their own,” he said.
Templeman added that the new TGEs had been well received by drivers, particularly for their comfort and build quality.
“Our vehicles cover high mileage and we need to ensure we provide our drivers with a safe, comfortable and secure working environment,” he said.
Matt Chojnacki, MAN Truck & Bus TGE sales specialist, said: “Working with Karl and the Templeman family has been an absolute delight. With their expertise, we’ve been able to specify and provide vehicles that not only fit their operational needs perfectly but also visually complement their standout fleet.”
