Transport and logistics company T&M Plant Hire has saved more than £250,000 per year and cut configuration time for its fleet of devices from 30 minutes to under five minutes by working with device management specialist SOTI.

T&M Plant Hire turned to SOTI after facing an increasing number of app and security challenges. This issue was made worse by using unmanaged personal smartphones and tablets for work and the need for its mobile staff to access an average of 20 apps per driver.

Another challenge was the inability to troubleshoot device issues remotely. This resulted in several days of lost productivity, as hardware needed to be sent to headquarters for repair.

SOTI provided its Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solution SOTI MobiControl, and its process digitization tool, SOTI Snap to tackle these challenges. SOTI MobiControl provides visibility and control over where T&M Plant Hire’s devices are, what they’re doing, how they’re performing and what security or compliance risks they’re facing.

SOTI MobiControl Kiosk Mode protects sensitive data by ensuring that personnel only access essential apps. The remote control feature enabled 100% remote support, so issues can be dealt with swiftly. This reduces downtime and boosts productivity by enabling quick device diagnostics and support.

Meanwhile SOTI Snap enabled T&M Plant Hire’s HR team to distribute wellbeing content and mandatory training courses to all devices when needed, regardless of location, making modules easier to complete and manage.
