Transport and logistics provider Emerge has committed to support members of the UK military community by signing the Armed Forces Covenant (AFC).

The AFC is a pledge by businesses to recognise the dedication and sacrifices made by members of the armed forces, both past and present.

As a signatory of the AFC, Stoke-on-Trent- based Emerge is committed to providing support, recognition and opportunities for active service men and women and veterans.

The Palletways member also pledges to uphold a set of values and principles that will guide its efforts to assist active personnel, veterans, reservists and their families.

Tasha Oram, Emerge head of transport, said: “We’re incredibly proud to have two ex-forces members on the team. Their work ethic, resilience and commitment are evident every day.

“Being a Bronze Employer Recognition Scheme holder reflects our belief in recognising those who’ve served and giving back to the wider community. It’s something we value deeply and are excited to build on further in the near future.”

Warwick Trimble, Palletways UK network director, added: “Backing the armed forces community is an area we take seriously across the network and we’re proud to see members like Emerge taking meaningful action to engage with and support service personnel and veterans.”
